Team World’s roster for the 2026 Laver Cup is complete.

World No. 18 Learner Tien and World No. 24 Tommy Paul will join captain Andre Agassi’s team for the ninth Laver Cup on Sep. 25-27 The O2 in London.

With the two Americans taking the final roster spots, this will be the highest-ranked Team World squad entering the event, though it will still likely be an underdog and not as highly ranked as Team Europe.

Tien, a 20-year-old Californian, is enjoying a career-high ranking. He entered the 2025 season at No. 122 and the 2026 season at No. 28. He reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in January of this year and at Indian Wells, and he won two 250-level tournaments in Geneva and Metz.

His biggest wins of the year have come against Laver teammates Ben Shelton (current World No. 5) and Alexander Bublik (No. 11) as well as former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev (No. 9).

“It’s a huge honor to be selected by Andre and it’s very special for me to represent Team World,” Tien said in a statement. “Tennis is so often an individual sport so being a part of a team is something I never take for granted. I’ve been watching Laver Cup since I was 11 years old and I can’t wait to experience the incredible atmosphere of the event as a player.”

This is the fourth time Paul has been selected for the Laver Cup, though he has only played once. He served as an alternate in 2022 and did participate, played two matches in 2023 in the World’s 13-2 victory, and was selected again for 2025 in San Francisco but had to withdraw due to injury.

“I am so pumped for the opportunity to compete for Team World in London,” Paul said. “I was disappointed to miss out on playing under Andre and Pat Rafter in San Francisco, so I’m thrilled to be back. I’ve experienced what makes the Laver Cup so special and there’s nothing quite like sharing the bench with these guys.”

Paul lost in the final at Queen’s Club last week. He was eliminated by Carlon Alcaraz in the Round of 16 at the Australian Open and the second round by Casper Ruud at Roland Garros. He won the Houston 250 in March and was a finalist in Hamburg 500 in May.

Paul and Tien are joining Shelton, Bublik, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur, giving the team four Americans as it tries for its second straight win in the series and second in London. Team Europe leads the overall series 5-3 and has won three of the four matchups held in Europe.

Two spots remain on Team Europe, as captain Yannick Noah has commitments from Alcaraz, Roland Garros champion Alexander Zverev, Roland Garros finalist Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik.
