UFC 313 will be in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on March 8. The early prelims start at 6:30 p.m. ET, while the prelims are at 8 p.m. ET. The main card starts at 10 p.m. ET, and Pereira and Ankalaev should make their way to the octagon around 12:30 a.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
Pereira (12-2) is a two-division champion and has been busy answering the call to compete whenever needed. “Poatan” owns the record for the shortest time and fewest contests to win UFC gold in company history (736 days/7 bouts). He won three fights in 2024, all via knockout.
It is the first time since his UFC debut in 2021 that Pereira will be tested against a wrestling-heavy fighter. Pereira looks to prove he can handle the pressure while continuing his momentum.
Ankalaev (19-1-1, 1 NC) hasn’t lost a fight since 2018. An avoided fighter, the multi-time medalist at the amateur level has ten wins via knockout and has been known to hold his opponents and tire them out.
Finally fighting for gold, the top-ranked fighter at light heavyweight saw a video of Pereira with former champion Glover Teixeira, preparing to grapple with him. Ankalaev shared a simple message to the Brazilian.
“I hope you ready to do this for 25 min.”
