A woman who works for the NASCAR team co-owned by Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan has been indefinitely suspended for behavioral reasons, NASCAR announced.
Evanna Howell, 35, who works as a senior account manager at 23XI Racing, was arrested and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon leading to serious injury following an incident before the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 24.

According to police, on May 23 at about 1:45 p.m, Howell intentionally hit a 77-year-old man with a golf cart at the race track.
After an initial court appearance on May 26, she posted a $125,000 bond. Her next court appearance is June 16.

NASCAR announced the suspension on its penalty report following the Charlotte race, and 23XI Racing has yet to comment on the incident.
23XI Racing, also co-owned by Denny Hamlin, has three cars in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Tyler Reddick finished 4th in Charlotte and has won five times this season, and leads the points standings. Bubba Wallace is 13th in the standings, and Riley Herbst is 27th.
