BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has announced plans to build a 10-hole short course and a nine-hole putting course, both to be designed by Rees Jones. The new complex will be in the southwest portion of the BallenIsles community and is expected to open in the fall of 2026.

Holes on the short course will range from 80 to 160 yards. The project is estimated to cost $6 million.

“We are so proud of the work that Rees (Jones) and Bryce (Swanson) did with us in 2019 that we could not wait for the opportunity to work with them again,” BallenIsles director of golf Jeff Fitzherbert said in a media release.  “The short course land abuts the South course that is so popular with our members, so the fit was natural. We are eager to get to work and see what the Rees Jones design team will come up this time.”

The private BallenIsles, originally named PGA National Golf Club, is home to three full-size golf courses: the East Course by Nicklaus Design, the South Course by Jones and the North Course by Kipp Schulties. Aside from the planned new short-game area, BallenIsles in 2018 completed a $35 million clubhouse renovation and in 2024 capped off a $19 million renovation and expansion of its Sports and Lifestyle Complex.
