Peter Uihlein celebrated his 37th birthday last week, but the former PGA Tour vet and current LIV Golf member knows he might not have a home next year if the latter can’t come up with funding for a scaled-down version of the circuit.
So Uihlein, who officially won $4.13 million during his lengthy run on the PGA Tour and added $37.6 million during his time with LIV Golf, was attempting to qualify for the DP World Tour this week at Huddersfield Golf Club in England.

Unfortunately, he opened with rounds of 74 and 73 and was tied for 66th heading into the third round at 7-over-par on Friday when he didn’t show up for his tee time. He was subsequently disqualified from the event. Only the top 19 players with ties advance to the next stage.

LIV is still exploring its next steps as it continues to pursue “LIV 2.0,” a slimmed-down version of the breakaway tour, formerly funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The league recently sent settlement offers to players who are owed millions beyond the 2026 season, with those offers coming at “a few cents on the dollar.”
Back in 2022, Uihlein was making a living on the Tour, but was unhappy with his play, and he told USA Today Network he was simply ready for a change.

“In reality is I wish I played better,” Uihlein said about the end of his PGA Tour run. “I’m not denying that.”

Uihlein, who lives in Jupiter, Florida, said pursuing LIV Golf was not an easy decision and it was not just about the money. LIV offered an opportunity to break a mold — “I’ve always kind of done things differently” — and it rejuvenated his career.
“I feel better. I feel freer, I feel happier,” Uihlein said of his LIV Golf experience back in 2022. “And then the reality is, this is the first time in my entire career I’ve had a guaranteed place to play for the next year or the following year. I’ve never had that in my career. I don’t know if that’s another reason but I’ve never experienced that.”
In 2026, Uihlein made $4 million in 12 events, finishing 21st on the LIV Golf season money list.
