The Vegas Golden Knights AHL affiliate, the Henderson Silver Knights, have signed defenseman Chase Pauls to a professional tryout.

The 21-year-old defenseman has been playing in the ECHL with the Bloomington Bison and the Rapid City Rush during the 2024-25 campaign and will get his first chance at playing in the AHL. In the ECHL, Pauls recorded five assists in 41 games.

The 6’5, 220 lbs right-handed defenseman skated in 224 WHL games, scoring 21 goals and 69 points.

Pauls will add size and defensive ability to the Silver Knights squad, something they are lacking on the backend. The biggest defenseman on their current roster is listed at 6’2, 209 lbs, which is 30-year-old Robert Hagg.

Pauls is also the youngest defenseman on the roster, but he is just a few months younger than Joe Fleming and Artur Cholach.

If Pauls can perform during his loan from the Rush, he could earn himself an AHL contract with the Silver Knights.
