Scottie Scheffler climbs leaderboard in FedEx St. Jude Championship

Scottie Scheffler surged up the leaderboard with his strong play in the third round, now in third place at the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Aug. 9 at TPC Southwind.

Scheffler, who entered the day tied for seventh, was looking to improve from his hot-and-cold second-round performance. The world’s No. 1-ranked player finished the day 5-under, with five birdies and one bogey, and is 12-under overall.

Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose occupy the top two spots on the leaderboard, respectively. Scheffler is only one stroke behind Rose, who shot 67 in third round, and two strokes behind Fleetwood, who shot 69.

With the close scores, the fourth round is primed to be an exciting day.

Scheffler will tee off with J.J. Spaun at 12:30 p.m. CT for the final round on Aug. 10.
