Payouts for 1st event of FedExCup playoffs

The FedEx St. Jude Championship winner — whoever it is — will earn a nice payday on Aug. 10.

The tournament has a $20 million purse that will be divided among the 69 players in Memphis. The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings qualified for the tournament, but Rory McIlroy decided not to play. The top 50 players in the FedExCup standings will advance to the BMW Championship Aug. 14-17 at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. The top 30 players will advance to the Tour Championship Aug. 21-24 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

There’s plenty on the line Sunday. Tommy Fleetwood is going for his first ever PGA Tour win, and he has a two-shot lead at 15-under. Justin Rose (-13), Scottie Scheffler (-12), J.J. Spaun (-11) and Andrew Novak (-11) are right behind him.

Everyone in contention will be compensated nicely, of course. Here’s a look at the payouts for each player.
