Multiple sources claim Roma have made an approach for VfB Stuttgart winger Jamie Leweling, offering a loan with obligation to buy for €40m, but he is not the only option.

The version of events provided by Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio is that the proposal for Stuttgart is €5m on loan, with option to buy for a further €35m at the end of the season.

That can become an obligation if certain conditions are met, most likely activated if they qualify for the Champions League next term.

The 25-year-old is versatile and can play in a variety of roles in the trident attack, making him a useful addition to the squad.
Leweling scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in 50 competitive games for Stuttgart last season.

Other candidates include Luiz Henrique of Zenit St. Petersburg and Chelsea man Jamie Gittens, but both of those clubs are unlikely to let their players leave under these terms.
Meanwhile, Leonardo Balerdi arrived today and will complete his medical over the weekend, hoping to join from Olympique Marseille on loan with option to buy.
