Preston Stout already had a spot in the 2027 Masters locked up. Now he has exemptions into the U.S. Open and Open Championship next summer, as well.
Stout, a rising senior at Oklahoma State, was named winner of the Mark H. McCormack Medal on Wednesday, which is given to the top player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

“Being named the McCormack Medal winner is a tremendous honor, and one I’ll never take for granted,” Stout said in a release. “This recognition reflects not just my own work, but the support of everyone who has pushed me to get better along the way. It motivates me to keep raising my own bar and chasing what’s next. I’m grateful to be included among the players who have earned this honor.”

Stout, 22, earned the No. 1 spot after a junior season at OSU that saw him win five times, including the NCAA individual men’s golf championship. Next month, he’ll make his second appearance on the U.S. Walker Cup team at Lahinch in Ireland.
Also during his junior season, Stout won his third straight Big 12 individual title, the first in conference history to accomplish the feat and the second Cowboy to win three straight conference championships.

He’s also No. 1 in the PGA Tour University Preseason Rankings for the Class of 2027. The player who finishes first after the conclusion of stroke play at the 2027 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship will receive a PGA Tour card.
Last week, former Oregon standout Kiara Romero claimed the McCormack Medal, which gave her enough points via the LPGA’s LEAP program to earn her card. She’s making her professional debut this week.
