The Professional Fighters League teased the idea of a Super Fights PPV division when it first signed Francis Ngannou in 2023. Now, Ngannou finally makes his PFL debut on October 19 against Renan Ferreira.

The event in Saudi Arabia airs on ESPN+ in the U.S., DAZN in the U.K., and Stan Sport in Australia.

Ngannou (17-3) beat Stipe Miocic to win the UFC heavyweight title, exited the UFC in 2023 following contract disputes, and joined the PFL. Before entering the SmartCage, he entered the boxing ring, impressing against Tyson Fury before getting knocked out by Anthony Joshua.

Considered the lineal UFC heavyweight champion, Ngannou is ready to prove why he is still known as MMA’s version of “The Baddest Man on the Planet.”

“He (Ferreira) moves a lot and he has good grappling. I mean, he is a black belt,” Ngannou told Uncrowned’s Ariel Helwani. “Unless the fight goes longer — if the fight goes past two rounds, I think it’s likely going to end up (being) a decision. Otherwise, if it stays inside two rounds, I think it’s a knockout, or why not a submission?

“You know, I’m not a black belt, but I’m not bad too. I’ve been working on some little tricks.”

Ferreira (13-3, 3 NC) has not lost a fight for the PFL since 2022. He beat Denis Goltsov via TKO to win the 2023 heavyweight tournament.

“Problema” then knocked out Ryan Bader in less than a minute in February to secure a shot against Ngannou, and believes his power will be the difference maker on fight night.

“What I meant is that when I throw a punch and it lands, you won’t know what happened,” Ferreira said via DAZN. “He hits hard, but I hit hard as well.”

The co-main event will see Cris Cyborg face Larissa Pacheco. Cyborg (27–2, 1 NC) is a former UFC, Strikeforce, and Invicta FC featherweight champion and the current Bellator featherweight champion.

Pacheco (23-4) beat Kayla Harrison in 2022 in the PFL lightweight tournament. She is on a ten-fight win streak, winning the 2023 PFL featherweight tournament last November.
