Golf personality Paige Spiranac revealed who is the slowest golfer she has ever played with — actor Chris Pratt.
Spiranac shared the story during an appearance on the “Vanity Index Podcast” hosted by Wells Adams and Chad Mumm. When asked who the most famous golfer she had played with was, Spiranac mentioned Pratt and explained her experience during a celebrity golf event.
“At Genesis they did a celebrity Ryder Cup and my partner was Nick Jonas and we played against Chris Pratt,” Spiranac said. “He was very slow. Might be the slowest golfer I’ve ever played with.”
She added that even though Pratt was friendly, his slow pace caused the group to fall behind schedule.
“Super nice guy. Unbelievably slow. And we were like four holes behind on a nine-hole, like, little thing and they’re like, you need to speed it up,” she said. “And he had all of these people around him and he’d tell these amazing stories and we’re like, ‘hit the golf ball. Hit it!’”
The match took place during the Genesis Invitational, a tournament known for including celebrities in side events. Spiranac’s comments were based on that single round with Pratt and she emphasized the delay during play caused by his storytelling.
Pratt is known for his roles in major films but has also played in several celebrity and pro-am golf events. In 2024, he was seen at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio, where he played with other public figures, including Peyton Manning and Rory McIlroy.
Meanwhile, Spiranac also used the podcast appearance to speak about other topics, including what she would do if she were Commissioner of the PGA Tour, her experience losing a golf bet to Colt Knost and her explanation about the difference between the PGA Tour and the PGA of America.
