Earlier today, it was confirmed by the RFEF that the Barcelona – Osasuna game which was postponed due to the demise of Barça’s first-team doctor, will be played on March 27.
That’s roughly a week from now – a decision that didn’t sit well with Barcelona, who will have to contend with the potential absence of South American stars Raphinha and Ronald Araujo, both of whom will return late from the international break.
Bryan Zaragoza ruled out of Barcelona match
In a game where Barcelona may have to deal with multiple key absentees, the Catalans have recently received a rare boost.
According to AS, Osasuna superstar Bryan Zaragoza has been ruled out of Barcelona owing to his recent injury.
Zaragoza suffered a muscle injury in Osasuna’s recent game against Getafe, which even prompted the winger to opt out of Spanish national team duty.
Although Zaragoza has already returned to Osasuna to kickstart his recovery process, the report suggests the player could be out for around three weeks, thereby ruling him out for the Barcelona clash.
This could serve as a big blow for Osasuna, as Zaragoza has been one of the team’s top performers ever since he returned to Spain.
The 23-year-old has scored one goal and mustered five assists so far in La Liga. But he has been far more resourceful when it comes to creating chances for his teammates.
His absence, therefore, could go a long way in stifling Osasuna’s attacking game, which in turn, could work in favour of Barcelona.
