The Dallas Cowboys could be trying to jump the New York Giants in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft, according to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Schultz wrote:
There’s a belief among teams at the top of the draft that the #Cowboys, who have picks at #12 and #20, are a team to watch in trade-up scenarios, according to multiple league sources. Several teams have said they believe Dallas is targeting a player the Giants also covet, and getting ahead of them would be ideal if the price makes sense.
If true, who could the Cowboys be targeting?

Blogging The Boys wrote recently about rumors that the Cowboys could trade up in the draft to get Ohio State edge defender Arvell Reese if he gets past the New York Jets at No. 2. I don’t see Reese as a target for the Giants.
The Cowboys have also been said to covet Ohio State inside linebacker Sonny Styles, a player the Giants obviously covet and who is the player most often selected for the Giants in mock drafts. NFL insider Ian Rapoport recently said the Cowboys were the team most likely to move up in the draft, and mentioned Styles as a possible target.
There has also been plenty of speculation that the Cowboys might trade up for Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, a player also connected to the Giants by many draft analysts.
