Regular season, playoffs — it doesn’t seem to matter. Shane van Gisbergen won at the Charlotte Roval on Sunday, Oct. 5, giving him five consecutive NASCAR Cup Series wins on road courses.

His streak dates back to June in Mexico City. Van Gisbergen, who was eliminated after the first round of the playoffs, led 57 laps and enjoyed a final margin of 15 seconds between himself and runner-up Kyle Larson.

Christopher Bell rounded out the top three.

But the more important story?

Four drivers were cut from the playoff field following the Bank of America ROVAL 400, the final race of the Round of 12. Austin Cindric, Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace and Ross Chastain are done. Joey Logano snuck into the next round in the final spot.
