The NASCARCup Series raced on Sunday at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, California. The custom-made 3.4-mile track made for a ton of excitement amid unexpected results.
Corey Heim won his first career Cup Series victory in his 13th career start. Heim is a part-time driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, although he will go full-time for 23XI Racing in 2027.

Shane van Gisbergen entered the day as a favorite at around minus-250 odds, depending on the sportsbook. He was involved in a Stage 1 wreck, which included Connor Zilisch and Austin Hill. The details of the wreck featured Hill going wide exiting turn 1, and with the momentum of a close-behind Van Gisbergen, Hill was hit from behind by the race favorite.
The wreck ultimately led to a ‘Big One’ style wreck, which included an array of cars. That incident raised a red flag.
