Phil Mickelson is going to miss the 2025 LIV Golf season opener in Riyadh.

Lefty announced on social media he suffered a minor shoulder injury while working out last week but but said he looks forward to playing in Adelaide next week, the second LIV Golf event.

Mickelson, now 54, also said Ollie Schniederjans would replace him in the field this week. Schniederjans is coming off his first pro win in nearly nine years, beating Bryson DeChambeau and other LIV Golf players at the Asian Tour’s International Series India on Sunday.

Who’s on Phil Mickelson’s LIV Golf team?

As captain of the HyFlyers, Mickelson had one top-10 finish last year, coming in Jeddah. He earned points in only three of the 13 events he teed it up in and narrowly avoided relegation.

The HyFlyers return Mickelson, Cameron Tringale, Brendan Steele and Andy Ogletree in 2025.
