Kevin Kisner has revealed that one LIV Golf caddie has suggested to a player that he would be wise to leave now amid doubts over the league’s future.
The situation appears to be very bleak for LIV right now. The golfing world is still waiting to learn whether Scott O’Neil has managed to seal investment for next season.

They have been dealt a further blow with the news that the Asian Tour has reached a deal with the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.
Meanwhile, several players believe that LIV’s Team Championship will not take place. The event had been scheduled for late August in Michigan.
LIV Golf players encouraged to leave as soon as possible
It would not be the first LIV Golf event this season to be postponed, with New Orleans also originally on the calendar for 2026.
So it may not be too long before a number of players can start the clock on any suspensions they need to serve before they potentially return to the PGA Tour.

Perhaps some players may look to start their suspensions even sooner.
Speaking on the Fore Play Podcast about the news concerning the Asian Tour, Kevin Kisner suggested that he would probably be looking for any way out if he was a LIV player right now.

“There’s so many questions. I try to put myself in those positions, what would I do if I had done it and I was 35 years old? Obviously, nobody wants to quit playing golf at 35 years old and retire, even if you’ve made a bunch of money,” he said.
“It’s a weird situation. I have no idea. But I text a caddie out there today and I said why would you continue to play if you’re young and your next move has to be the PGA Tour? And he said he told a young player out there that today. He’s like, ‘I probably wouldn’t play anymore’. I’d probably just try to figure out my best way back if the end is imminent.

“One of the things you spoke to is you’re living out the things you’ve been told. Well, none of the people who sold you on it are around anymore. Greg Norman’s gone. Yasir’s gone. Yasir’s out. So I’m sure you’re not even dealing with the same people that you originally started with. So I wouldn’t feel any allegiance to any of those people.”
Why leaving LIV Golf before the end of the season may not be worthwhile for some players
Much will surely come down to how the contracts work. If a younger player is thinking of leaving but knows that the situation could get messy if they walk away before the end of the year, they may feel they are better off staying put.
Clearly, LIV is in big trouble right now. But hanging around until the end of the season – even if the Michigan event is played – will only see their suspensions end one month later than they would now.
Whatever happens, you really do get the feeling now that the news is likely to get even worse for LIV before there is any particularly positive news for the league.
