NASCAR is coming back to Nashville for the fifth consecutive year.

It’s been a successful partnership for NASCAR to run races at the track since it reopened in 2021 after closing 10 years prior.

One of the biggest complaints about the racetrack was that the concrete surface made turns bumpy and the drivers were hesitant to pass with traction being poor in the outside grooves.

The first NASCAR race weekend at Nashville Superspeedway was excellent and exciting. The race was run toward the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and seemed to be a massive lift to race fans’ spirits to be in attendance for a race.

NASCAR ran the other two national series, the Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series, at Nashville from 2001-2011 and was a staple on the schedule. Nashville hosted two Xfinity Series races from 2002-11, and the Truck Series ran two races at Nashville for the final two years of the original run in 2010-11.

The four prior races at Nashville have also been exciting and produced competitive races, including last year’s race with a rain delay, won by Joey Logano.
