Actor-turned-racer Frankie Muniz is already competing full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, but he also added GT4 America to his busy 2026 schedule.

Driving a Ford Mustang for TechSport Racing in the season-opener at Sonoma Raceway, Muniz and co-driver Tyler Stone finished second in the Am class, and 19th overall. They finished fourth in class in the second race of the weekend, just missing out on a double podium.

“You have no idea how much this means to me,” said Muniz on social media. “First podium after YEARS of grinding for this moment. Standing on that stage, spraying champagne with the trophy in hand… man, I can’t explain how good it feels! This one’s for everyone who’s believed in the journey.

“Huge thanks to Ford Racing for continuing to push me and giving us this incredible Mustang GT4, my killer teammate Tyler Stone (we made it happen together!), and the entire TechSport Racing crew for the flawless prep and strategy. Couldn’t have done it without them! Considering my first time ever in a GT4 car was two days ago, I couldn’t be happier and ready to fight for this championship!! Let’s go baby!”

The GT4 America Series heads to the Circuit of the Americas next, competing there on the weekend of April 24-26. The 2026 schedule also takes them to Sebring, Road Atlanta, Road America, Barber, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course. Muniz plans to take part in the full season alongside Stone.

The popular American actor gained notoriety for his role in the sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle,” earning an Emmy Award nomination and two Golden Globe Award nominations. He has since appeared in numerous films and television shows, and first ventured into the racing world with three years in the Champ Car Atlantic Series in the mid-2000s, placing as high as fourth.

But in recent years, he has stepped into NASCAR with starts ARCA, Trucks, and even the O’Reilly Series. His next appearance on track is this weekend at Rockingham with the NCTS — his 30th career start in Trucks. Last year, he finished 23rd at Rockingham and will be hoping to improve on that performance.
