Former UFC champion Max Holloway has zero plans to step into retirement following his UFC 326 loss to Charles Oliveira. Holloway was defending the “BMF” title in the main event this past Saturday, losing via unanimous decision.

“I’ve been here before I know the work I need to do to get back to where I wanna be,” Holloway posted on social media. “We are far from done. See you guys at the top.”

Holloway made the same remarks in the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan immediately following the bout. The 34-year-old is now 27-9 in his career, including a 4-2 record in his last six fights.

As for the five-round battle with Oliveira, Holloway offered his own thoughts on the encounter, as well.

Max Holloway Shows Love For Charles Oliveira

“The highest of highs and the lowest of lows,” he wrote. “Saturday night was not my night. Sorry to all my family, friends and fans that I have let down. Shout out to Oliveira for doing his thing. All class so nothing but love to him.”

Oliveira used his wrestling to constantly take Holloway down to the mat. The submission wizard went for numerous moves, but “Blessed” constantly fought out of them and survived the full 25 minutes.

Holloway won the BMF title in 2024 with a fifth-round knockout of Justin Gaethje with just one second remaining in the fight. He defended it with a decision over Dustin Poirier last July, after a loss to Ilia Topuria for the UFC featherweight championship.
