After months of rumors, the Buffalo Sabres traded Dylan Cozens to the Ottawa Senators on deadline day. The Sabres sent Cozens, Dennis Gilbert, and a 2026 second-round pick to Ottawa in exchange for Josh Norris and Jacob Bernard-Docker.

Cozens is now expected to be a key part of the Senators’ roster moving forward, and he certainly left a good first impression in his debut with the club against the New York Rangers. The 6-foot-3 forward not only recorded the primary assist on Ridly Greig’s third-period goal but threw a career-high nine hits.

This was an excellent way for Cozens to get his tenure started with the Senators. The Sens will be hoping that he will continue to provide them with offense and plenty of grit as they look to get back into the playoffs.

After this contest, Cozens now has 32 points and 157 hits in 61 games this season. It will be interesting to see if he heats up offensively after being traded by the Sabres to the Senators from here.
