The same golf equipment giant that sponsors Tiger Woods is now officially making his son part of an exclusive club among college-bound golfers.
TaylorMade Golf announced a partnership with Charlie Woods on Friday, Sept. 4, following an encouraging first round at the American Junior Golf Association Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The Florida State commit has signed an NIL deal with TaylorMade to begin his senior year at The Benjamin School, according to the Palm Beach Post, part of the USA TODAY Network.

TaylorMade introduced the 17-year-old in a social media video featuring Woods in a locker room putting his golf spikes away and then donning a TaylorMade hat. Terms of the NIL deal were not disclosed.

“We build our roster of athletes around those who are driven by the game of golf and have an unmatched desire to compete at the highest level,” TaylorMade CEO David Abeles said in a statement. “Charlie epitomizes that every time he tees it up. The growth of his game over the last few years speaks for itself and we are humbled he chose TaylorMade to support him as he competes at the junior level and during his transition to collegiate golf.”
Golfweek spoke with the head men’s coach of a Top 20 Division I team on Friday, and he estimated that only 25 to 30 men’s players have a deal with a manufacturer that pays them money. TaylorMade also signed Kai Trump, President Donald Trump’s granddaughter, to an NIL agreement in 2025 ahead of her freshman season as a college golfer at Miami this year.
An arrangement with Charlie Woods was inevitable given his popularity and his father’s longstanding relationship with TaylorMade. Tiger Woods began using TaylorMade clubs in 2017 and launched his “Sun Day Red” brand with the company in 2024 after splitting with Nike.

Charlie Woods has also appeared in marketing videos with TaylorMade discussing his preferred equipment, clubs and apparel.
Woods also won the Team TaylorMade Invitational in May 2025 at the Streamsong Resort’s Black Course in Bowling Green, Florida, prevailing over an elite field of junior golfers, including No. 1-ranked Miles Russell, in the biggest amateur victory of his young career.
Woods sits at 1-under and tied for eighth on the leaderboard after Round 1 at the Junior Players Championship.
