The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled defenseman Scott Morrow from the Chicago Wolves, it was announced Monday.

In a corresponding move, defenseman Riley Stillman has been assigned to the Wolves.

Drafted by the Hurricanes in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft, Morrow has spent the entire season to date with the Wolves, collecting 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points in 41 games.

Although this is his first full season of pro hockey, Morrow appeared in two games with Carolina last year, going pointless in the process. Before turning pro, he spent parts of three seasons at UMass (NCAA), putting up 94 points in 109 career games.

A 2016 fourth round pick of the Florida Panthers, Stillman has seen time at both levels this season. In one game with the Hurricanes, Stillman went pointless but has put up two goals and five points in 15 games with the Wolves.

Over the course of 159 career NHL regular season games with the Panthers, Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Vancouver Canucks and Buffalo Sabres, Stillman has 26 points.

With Morrow having an impressive rookie season with the Wolves, his play has been rewarded with this recall. A mobile, offensive minded defender who makes smart decisions with the puck, it shouldn’t be long until Morrow makes the full time jump to the Hurricanes.
