The Buffalo Sabres have assigned forward Isak Rosen to the Rochester Americans, it was announced Tuesday.

The move comes as Tage Thompson is set to return to the ice.

Rosen, a 2021 first round pick of the Sabres, saw one game with the team when they took on the San Jose Sharks Saturday. Although he was held pointless, he has put up four goals and 13 points in 14 games with the Americans.

Having made his NHL debut last year, Rosen has played in eight career NHL regular season games and has not registered a point. Through 147 games across parts of three seasons with Rochester, he has collected 100 points.

With Rosen being sent down again, Rochester adds an important player back to their lineup. With almost little left to prove for Rosen at the AHL level, the next step is seizing a full time role with the Sabres.
