The final major championship of the 2026 golf season is here at The Open Championship, and Riyal Birkdale is the host for the biggest links tournament of the season.

It’s been a bit of an odd 2026 in terms of major champions. Rory McIlroy held serve by defending his title at The Masters before Aaron Rai and Wyndham Clark made it two surprise winners at the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open.

That leaves a lot of the game’s best players, such as Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau majorless in 2026. However, Scheffler, Schauffele and Rahm have at least been competitive at the biggest events on the calendar. DeChambeau, on the other hand, is looking to avoid making it a clean sweep of missed cuts at the majors this season.

DeChambeau, who is now with LIV Golf and spends a lot of time creating content for his YouTube channel, has been struggling at the biggest events. Ahead of The Open, Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee took a dig at DeChambeau on Tuesday.
