For the first time in four years, Scottie Scheffler won’t make it to the weekend at a PGA Tour event. Scheffler will fail to make the cut at the Scottish Open Friday, ending one of the longest streaks in PGA Tour history.
Scheffler got off to an OK start at the event Thursday, shooting two-under in the first round. But at 2-over performance Friday thanks to four bogeys moved him back to even par for the tournament.

That performance isn’t going to be good enough to get Scheffler to the weekend. The top-65 players (and ties) make the cut at the Scottish Open. After his performance Friday, Scheffler is well outside the top 65.
The cut line for the event is expected to be two-under.
It marks the first time since 2022 that Scheffler has failed to make the cut at a Tour event. That year, Scheffler shot one-under at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. That wasn’t good enough to make the cut.
Since then, Scheffler made the cut at 78 consecutive PGA Tour events. It was the longest active streak on the tour.
It’s also one of the longest streaks in the history of the sport. Scheffler’s 78 consecutive events ranks fifth on the all-time list.

The end of the streak comes at an inopportune time for Scheffler as he heads into next week’s British Open, where he will be the defending champion.
With the missed cut, the longest active streak now transfers to Matt Fitzpatrick, who has made 28 straight cuts.
