Tee times pushed back 30 minutes at Kaulig Companies Championship

Good morning from Firestone County Club. Due to the rain this morning, tee times for the field have been pushed back 30 minutes. Opening tee times will be at 8:30 a.m.

Who leads after Round 1 of the Kaulig Companies Championship?

Jerry Kelly of Madison, Wi. leads the field by one stroke heading into Round 2. He shot a 5-under round of 65 in round one July 9.

One stroke behind Kelly are Canada’s Mike Weir and Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke. Each of them shot rounds of 4-under 66 in round one.

Ernie Els, Y.E. Yang, Zach Johnson and Søren Kjeldsen all sit two strokes off the lead at 3-under.

Who is the defending champion at the Kaulig Companies Championship?

Miguel Angel Jiménez is the defending champion. He shot 10 under in 2025 and defeated Steve Alker in a playoff.

The field also includes 2024 champion Ernie Els, and previous champions Steve Stricker (2023, 2021), Jerry Kelly (2022, 2020) Retief Goosen (2018) and Vijay Singh (2017).

What are the purse and tee times for the Kaulig Companies Championship?

This year’s purse is $3.5 million with $525,000 going to the winner.

Day 1 tee times begin at 9:20 a.m. from holes No. 1 and No. 10 with trios from each tee. Final groups will tee off at 11:26 a.m.
