Legendary Spanish defender Sergio Ramos begins another chapter is his storied career after officially signing for Liga MX side Monterrey.
The former Real Madrid icon, who had been without a club since departing Sevilla last summer, joins the Mexican club on a one-year contract.

Ramos has not played a professional game since May 2024 but will mark his return by wearing a unique kit number for Monterrey which simultaneously sends an emotional nod to Los Blancos.
The defender has opted to wear No. 93 in honour of the 93rd-minute header he scored to tie the 2014 UEFA Champions League final against rivals Atlético de Madrid.
After his goal, Real Madrid went on to lift the trophy for the 10th time in club history.

Alongside that victory, Ramos has a long list of titles to his name for club and country. He is subsequently considered one of the best defenders of the modern era.
He won the the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the 2008 and 2012 European Championships and was a serial winner of the coveted Champions League amongst other accolades.
Monterrey will hope his experience and leadership helps the club move up from 10th in the Liga MX standings.
Additionally, Ramos will now feature in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, the Leagues Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025 with this new chapter.
