Prior to confirming the transaction, Joel Sherman reported that the Giants will receive starting pitcher Henry LaLane and shortstop Kaeden Kent, who is the son of former Giant and Hall of Famer Jeff Kent.
In 74 games this season, the left fielder has recorded nine home runs, 13 doubles, and three triples with a .728 OPS. He is continuing an upward trend in his career with a .264 batting average and a .424 slugging percentage. Ramos has 82 strikeouts with only 16 walks, which can raise some concerns about his consistency in the lineup.
There are still reports that the Yankees may secure a last-minute deal for a reliever, but that remains to be seen.
