Wyndham Clark entered Sunday’s final round of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson two shots off the lead, trailing Si Woo Kim while tied for second with Scottie Scheffler.

Clark played well throughout the tournament, but saved his best performance for the final round, firing a 10-under 60 on Sunday to finish at 30-under par and secure a three-shot victory for his fourth PGA Tour title.

After the tournament, Clark was asked what he believed was the driving force behind the win, and his answer was simple: his putting.

“I mean obviously the putting,” Clark said. “That was a pretty epic putting session or display this week, so that was probably the number one thing. I’ve been hitting it good kind of all year… but definitely the putting.”

Clark also went into detail about the season he’s had so far, describing it as competitive even if the results hadn’t fully matched his expectations until now.

“You know, gosh, I’ve played some really good golf,” Clark said. “I was really bummed last week at the PGA because I played some awesome golf at home coming into it. I had some really good finishes prior to that, and then I had an unfortunate week at the PGA and missed the cut.

“I came here and said, ‘Alright, our game’s good, we just have to figure out the driver,’ and then I got that back into play, kind of fell into form, and made some good putts.”

Clark is slated to return to action Thursday at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Texas, a tournament where he has struggled throughout his career.
