Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron scored his second pole of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season for Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway (3 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Byron earned the 15th pole of his Cup Series career after putting the No. 24 Chevrolet at the top of the board with a speed of 170.904 mph.

RFK Racing’s Ryan Preece (170.407 mph) and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin (170.354 mph) qualified second and third, respectively.

Chase Briscoe (170.283 mph) and Bubba Wallace (170.189 mph) rounded out the top five.

Austin Cindric (169.877 mph), Tyler Reddick (169.836 mph), Kyle Busch (169.824 mph), Ryan Blaney (169.818 mph) and Michael McDowell (169.736 mph) completed the top 10.

Hocevar fastest in practice

Spire Motorsports driver Carson Hocevar topped the leaderboard in practice at 168.054 mph, besting Josh Berry (167.180 mph) and Erik Jones (167.123 mph).

Austin Cindric (166.777 mph) and Justin Haley (166.552 mph) rounded out the top five.

Byron (166.535 mph), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (166.231 mph), Ty Gibbs (166.214 mph), Austin Dillon (165.961 mph) and defending winner Brad Keselowski (165.698 mph) completed the top 1o.

The only incident of the session occurred in Group 1 when Legacy Motor Club’s John Hunter Nemechek spun in Turn 2.
