The UFC White House event is full of surprises, but nothing could top the surprise of Tyson Fury arriving on the scene.

The British boxer has not fought in the United States in almost five years, but he showed up at the White House as it hosted the UFC event on Sunday night.

Fury got his own walkout along with an interview on Paramount+.

No one knew that Fury was going to make an entrance, which makes his appearance a true surprise. It isn’t a coincidence, though, as Fury seems to be in Washington, D.C. for a reason.

Here’s why Fury is at the UFC event at the White House.

Why was Tyson Fury at UFC White House card?

Fury made a surprise appearance at the UFC White House event as it seems the UFC will make a special announcement later this evening.

Fury has not fought in the United States in almost five years, as his last six fights have either been in London or Saudi Arabia. Now that he is in the United States, Fury’s fight drought in America could be coming to an end.

The 37-year-old said he hopes to fight Anthony Joshua at some point this year but didn’t make any definitive proclamations.

Last time Tyson Fury was in United States

Fury hasn’t been in the United States since 2021, when he beat Deontay Wilder in a fight in Nevada. Fury was reportedly banned from entering the United States for his connection with crime boss Daniel Kinahan.

Fury’s fight with Wilder in 2021 ended with a Fury victory by knockout, improving his career record to 31-0-1. Since then, he has suffered his first two losses, but he still boasts 35 total victories.

Fury was interviewed on Paramount+, where he teased an announcement later in the broadcast during his first appearance in the United States since 2021..

“I think I’m gonna let Dana do the speaking and let him do his announcement,” Fury said. “Massive, massive, massive announcement.”
