Scottie Scheffler will have the chance to complete the career Grand Slam in June when the U.S. Open heads to Shinnecock Hills.
Scheffler already has two Masters titles to his name, as well as a PGA Championship and an Open Championship.

The 29-year-old is just ramping up into form now as well, two months away from what could be a historic U.S. Open Championship for him.
Scheffler has one win and five top-fives to his name, including two runner-up finishes in his last two outings, in eight starts on the PGA Tour in 2026.
The stars could well be aligning for him to win the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills in June and in doing so, making history by becoming only the seventh man to complete the career Grand Slam.

Scheffler seems to be inching his way back to PGA Tour domination and he is trending very nicely indeed ahead of the most important part of the golfing season.

He always seems to raise his game around this time of the year, doesn’t he?
However, something will have to give over the course of the next six or seven weeks for the man from Dallas, Texas.

Scheffler will have been motivated by Rory McIlroy’s Masters win earlier this month.
He has the bit between his teeth now, and will be desperate to chalk off at least one major championship before the year is out.
The U.S. Open is the one he will want to win more than any of the others, so that he can join Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy as Grand Slam winners.

The problem that Scheffler faces now is the hectic PGA Tour schedule lying ahead of him over the next two months.
And it won’t be as simple as him just skipping a couple of tournaments, due to the importance of all of them, in very different ways.

Scheffler is, of course, missing this week’s team event in New Orleans, but things will start to get very interesting for him next week.
Back-to-back Signature Events kick off the tournaments in May, with the Cadillac Championship and the Truist Championship taking place.
The second major of the year will be upon us the week after the Truist, with the PGA Championship heading to Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania.

That is then followed by consecutive events in Texas at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the Charles Schwab Challenge before yet another Signature Event hits the schedule in the form of the Memorial Tournament.
Next up is the RBC Canadian Open, which Scheffler has not played since 2022, coming the week before the U.S. Open.

The 29-year-old almost certainly won’t be playing at TPC Toronto, but where on earth will he have any time off during the previous six weeks?
If Scheffler is to be fresh and ready to compete at Shinnecock Hills in June, he will need to drop at least one tournament from his schedule.

The real problem for him is, which one?

The two upcoming Signature Events at Trump Doral and Quail Hollow will be tough for Scheffler to miss.
The world number one triumphed at Quail Hollow last year at the PGA Championship.
Meanwhile, dropping Trump Doral from his schedule would be fairly meaningless because he would still face a run of five straight tournaments, unless he skips another tournament in the six-week run as well.
He will obviously play the PGA Championship while the same can be said for the Memorial, where he will be the defending champion.
This means that Scheffler’s most likely decision will be to skip the Charles Schwab Challenge, as he will be the defending champion at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Something has to give. It really wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Scheffler missed out on the Cadillac Championship and the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Scheffler will almost certainly have to skip one event at the very least in the next two months ahead of the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.
And it will be an almost impossible decision for him to make regarding which tournament(s) to drop from his schedule.
