Shan van Gisbergen dominated and won the NASCAR Sonoma road race on June 28.
van Gisbergen led 74 of the 110 laps to claim his second race of the 2026 season and eighth of his career in 68 starts.
All eight of his wins have come on road courses, and he tied Tony Stewart at second on the list in NASCAR Cup history. Jeff Gordon holds the record with nine road course wins.

SVG also won at Sonoma in 2025.
van Gisbergen held off Chase Briscoe, who pressured him through the third and final stage before finishing second for the second straight year. Ty Gibbs won the first two stages and finished third.
