The Stevenson vs. Zepeda fight is at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York on July 12. The event starts at 6 p.m. ET. Stevenson and Zepeda should make their way to the ring around 10 p.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.

Stevenson (23-0) beat Edwin De Los Santos for the WBC title. A multi-division champion, the 27-year-old took out replacement opponent Josh Padley in February after Floyd Schofield had to back out.

The New Jersey-born star is known for being defensive in his fights. In what may be his toughest test to date, Stevenson believes his skills will be the difference against Zepeda.

“He’s coming in here to throw as many punches as possible, overwhelm me, and try to bully me. I’m not going to let that happen. I don’t believe in all the b—s— he’s talking about. I’m going to go out there and do what I do best, win. In spectacular fashion. I’ll come out there to whoop his a–,”Stevenson said.

Zepeda (33-0) beat Tevin Farmer in November for interim gold and retained the belt in a rematch in March. Before that, Zepeda beat Joseph Diaz and Maxi Hughes.

The 29-year-old Zepeda has 27 wins via knockout. He believes Stevenson won’t be able to work past his offense, resulting in an overwhelming win.

“I’ve always been a fighter known to be very disciplined, very focused. This is not an exception. This is the biggest fight of my life and the greatest opportunity I have,” Zepeda said.

“I want to be known as a Mexican legend, but not just a Mexican legend, a legend in the sport of boxing. I look at this fight like a movie, like Meldrick Taylor versus Chavez, and I want that type of fight. I want to give the fans what they want.”
