Shields (18-0) is a three-time undisputed champion, holding gold at middleweight, super welterweight, and heavyweight. The two-time Olympic gold medalist beat Franchon Crews-Dezurn in February, in a rematch from 2016, to retain heavyweight gold.

The self-proclaimed “G.W.O.A.T.” returns to the middleweight division in an attempt to win back gold she never lost, with a win bringing her to a record 21 belts held.

“Kaye Scott is a champion, and I respect what she’s accomplished,” Shields said via ESPN. “But becoming undisputed at 160 pounds again starts with beating the best. That’s always been my mindset. I don’t chase easy fights, I choose meaningful ones.”

A multi-time silver medalist at the World Championships, Scott (5-1-1) failed to capture the IBF middleweight title vs. Desley Robinson. She went 1-0-1 against Olivia Curry, beating her in the rematch for the WBA and WBC belts.

The Aussie, 42, was finally crowned after a long and successful amateur career. She looks to prove she’s not just another easy target Shields can bully on fight night.

“I believe the bigger the challenge, the bigger the opportunity, and on August 15 I have the chance to show the world exactly what I’m capable of,” Scott said.

“I’m in the best shape of my life and ready to test myself against the very best. I’m excited, motivated and prepared to step into that ring and prove that I am the best middleweight in the world.”
