Christian Mbilli looks to continue his rise at super middleweight when he faces the tough Maciej Sulecki for the interim WBC title.

Christian Mbilli vs. Maciej Sulecki will be in Canada’s Videotron Centre on June 27. Fight night starts at 6 p.m. ET. Mbilli and Sulecki should make their way to the ring around 11 p.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
A 2016 Olympian, Mbilli (28-0) has 23 wins via knockout. The French fighter beat former title contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko in his most impressive outing to date. The 30-year-old has made Canada his home.
The WBA and WBC’s top-ranked fighter exudes confidence, and a win could result in a future title opportunity against Canelo Alvarez.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long, I’ve worked so hard to get here, and there’s no way I’m leaving without the belt on June 27,” Mbilli said.
“I want to salute my opponent for having the courage to accept this challenge. But once we’re in the ring, he’ll have to face all the intensity and rage I’ve built up against those who refused to fight me before him.”
Ranked seventh by the WBC, Sulecki (33-3) failed to capture WBO gold against Demetrius Andrade in 2019. A four-fight win streak ended after getting knocked out against Diego Pacheco, but he rebounded against Ali Akhmedov in February.
Mbilli is confident, but Sulecki is eager to earn another shot at gold.
“This is the fight that is between me and Canelo, so we can square away our beef from sparring,” Sulecki said. “Of course, Christian Mbilli will not be an easy fight, but I have never felt better since my return with my trainer.
“I am in a great place with my team, and everyone is doing their part. June 27th I will make sure I do mine, with a statement in his home town, Quebec City.”
