The Korea Open Tennis Championships returns to Seoul as the first stop of the Asian Swing following the conclusion of all four Grand Slams in 2025.
Upgraded to a WTA 500 event last year, the tournament continues to attract big names, with six-time major champion and world No. 2 Iga Swiatek headlining. She will be joined by newly crowned world No. 4 and US Open finalist Amanda Anisimova, who handed Swiatek her quarter-final defeat in New York.
While they are the only top-10 players in action, world No. 11 Ekaterina Alexandrova, world No. 12 Clara Tauson, 2024 finalist Daria Kasatkina, and rising star Diana Shnaider add further depth, alongside defending champion Beatriz Haddad Maia.
The entry list also features Emma Raducanu, who has chosen Seoul over the Billie Jean King Cup Finals after retiring at the quarter-final stage here last season. Former Grand Slam winner Sofia Kenin and Roland Garros breakout Lois Boisson provide additional intrigue.
With 500 ranking points on offer for the champion and 325 for the runner-up, the Korea Open promises to set the tone for the Asian Swing and could have a real impact on the year-end rankings as players chase momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
The Sporting News is on hand to bring you all you need to know to ensure you don’t miss a minute of the action.
