Who leads the all-time series in the Ryder Cup?
The Ryder Cup was first played in 1927 but it wasn’t always the U.S. vs. Europe. The competition started as the U.S. from Great Britain and that lasted until 1973 when it was expanded to Great Britain and Ireland. In 1979, it changed again to the U.S. vs. Europe.
The U.S. leads the all-time series 27-15-2. However, since the team expanded to all of Europe in 1979, the U.S. trails 13-9. The U.S. hasn’t won consecutive cups since 1991-1993. Europe, meanwhile, has won three in a row twice since 2002.

The DP World Tour, meanwhile, is holding the Irish Open this week and there is just one Euro Ryder Cupper missing it but he has a very good reason. Next week it’s the FedEx Open de France in Paris, Sept. 18-21, the final event on that circuit ahead of the Ryder Cup.
