BIGFORK — For the second straight day, Max Milton came to play.
The Polson golfer scorched Eagle Bend for a 7-under 65 Thursday, winning medalist honors by nine strokes and leading the Pirates to the boys team title at the Steve Hullett Invitational.
Milton was medalist for the second straight day, as was Whitefish’s Karlee Brown: Both athletes had the low scores at Wednesday’s Whitefish Invitational. Whitefish won the girls team title for the second straight day as well.
With Carson Emerson and Cash Brown both breaking 80, Polson finished with 303 strokes to win the team title by 10 over Whitefish. Corvallis, which won the Whitefish Invitational with 308 strikes — three less than Polson — was third at 316.
Milton shot a 65 that day as well on the par-71 Whitefish Lake Golf Club.
On Thursday Brady Powell of Corvalis and Aiden Ricks of Whitefish tied for second among the boys, at 74; Colby Milton shot 76 and Finn Hobert 77 for the Bulldogs.
Columbia Falls’ Dylan Owens and Austin Hall tied for 11th, at 81; host Bigfork had Keenan Voelker finish in a five-way tie for 15th at 83.
On the girls side, Whitefish rode Brown’s 78 to a team title by 10 strokes over Polson.
Brown, who shot 83 to win by two strokes over Hamilton’s Cameron Burnett Wednesday, fired a 78. Bigfork’s Keegan Campbell was eight strokes back with an 86; then came Burnett at 87.
Whitefish was boosted by Ryhlee Scott and Caroline Owens, who also finished in the top-10 among the girls.
Pirates Madi Lake, Johana Bieber and Harlie Fisher placed 5-6-8.
Browning’s Lily Juneau tied for 15th.
