The final Hammer has fallen on the first TGL season, and golf fans are already asking: What’s next?

The indoor golf league backed by billionaires, celebrities, pro team owners and athletes was a sensation over the past three months in Palm Beach County. Though neither co-founder played for the championship (or even made the playoffs), Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy did enough to all but guarantee a second year.

Ratings for the fledgling league were mostly good, with an average of 650,000 people tuning into ESPN’s primetime matches. There are bumps to work out, but social media lighting up every Monday and Tuesday night with clips of wild shots and wilder dance moves show promise for its future.

Here’s what to know about TGL and what’s coming in 2026:

What time is TGL match today?

Sad news, golf fans: There isn’t one. The TGL’s 2025 season concluded March 25 with Atlanta Drive GC winning the finals in two matches against New York Golf Club. Billy Horschel’s clutch putt helped pave the way for the championship, which he celebrated with teammates Patrick Cantlay and Justin Thomas.

When does the next TGL season begin?

We don’t know yet. The league announced its first matches for the 2025 season — spread out over three Tuesdays starting Jan. 7 — on March 25, 2024. It then released its full 2025 schedule Oct. 21. League co-founder Mike McCarley said work on the 2026 schedule is already underway between TGL and ESPN.

It’s unknown whether TGL would consider adjusting the window for its 2026 season. Xander Schauffele suggested players want the schedule to end before The Players Championship, an issue that nearly popped up this year when rain forced a playoff to take place Monday, the day of TGL’s first semifinal. The 2026 Players is scheduled for March 12-16, which would require TGL to complete its season two weeks earlier than it did this year.

What’s changing in TGL next year?

The league is looking at expansion for 2026. League co-founder Mike McCarley said talks have been ongoing with several prospective owners to fund new teams. TGL had six in its first year, and new teams could represent other places popular among PGA Tour golfers, such as Phoenix and Dallas. That expansion might also include players from the LPGA Tour.

McCarley also said the league is looking at a spot to play matches on the West Coast, though a California or Las Vegas version of Palm Beach Gardens’ SoFi Center would be a few years away.
