What does Nelly Korda need to qualify for the LPGA Hall of Fame?

Nelly Korda could – this week – become the first American to play her way into the LPGA Hall of Fame since Juli Inkster in 1999. Korda is two points shy of the 27 needed to qualify for what many consider the toughest Hall in sports. In fact, the list of LPGA legends who aren’t in the LPGA’s Hall is jarring, including Laura Davies, Meg Mallon, Dottie Pepper, Hollis Stacy and Cristie Kerr.

A victory at this week’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Hazeline would give Korda three legs of the calendar grand slam and put her in the Hall of Fame.

Regular LPGA events are worth one point and majors are worth two. Korda has four wins this season, including major championship victories at the Chevron Championship and U.S. Women’s Open.

Should Korda not win again the rest of the season, she’s likely to earn two points at the end of the season for the Rolex Player of the Year award and Vare Trophy for low scoring average. Korda’s 68.26 average is currently more than a full stroke lower than her closet competitor, Hyo Joo Kim.

Lydia Ko was the last player to get into the LPGA Hall of Fame in 2024 when she captured Olympic gold in Paris. There are a total of 35 members in the LPGA Hall of Fame.
