Speaking at a public appearance earlier today, FC Barcelona president-elect Joan Laporta gave an insight into the club’s transfer plans heading into the summer window.
It will be an extremely pivotal window for Barça as they will be back to the 1:1 Fair Play rule, allowing them to operate with a greater freedom in the market.

Laporta on the team’s plans
However, when asked about the transfer market and the possibility of major signings, Laporta played down expectations of a revolution despite the club’s improved financial situation.
“Being at the 1:1 standard is positive, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to do crazy things or go overboard,” he explained.

The president-elect made it clear that sporting planning is fully in Deco’s hands, saying:
“We’re going to implement whatever Deco says. He’s shown that he does things well and we have to let him work.”
The Barça president-elect insisted that the objective will be to strengthen specific positions “that Deco and Flick have studied.”

On interest in Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland
One of the players linked most heavily with Barcelona heading into the summer is Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
When asked about a potential move for the Argentine striker, Laporta said: “We aren’t ruling anyone out because Barça can pursue all the top players.”

However, he clarified the club’s position by adding: “We set the conditions.”
The president-elect insisted that the club would not make any “crazy” moves in the transfer market and maintained that any new signings must be based solely on sporting criteria established by Deco.

Laporta was also asked about Erling Haaland, a player who always excites fans. However, he avoided discussing specific rumors and instead emphasized maintaining the current structure of the squad.
“It’s not about making signings just for show. The fans understand that we have a very strong team,” he stated.
