On the outside, the camper is identified by Miwo trim with California lettering, “Cruise” graphics along the sides, and model-specific badging on the tailgate.

California Mode, Climate Control, And Energy Management

An additional control unit manages lighting and comfort functions, keeps the USB ports powered continuously, and prepares the cabin for overnight stays, including independent climate control to help maintain a comfortable interior temperature.

According to Volkswagen, the climate-control system can heat or cool the interior continuously for up to about 48 hours, depending on the battery’s state of charge and the temperature difference between the cabin and the outside air. The idea is to allow extended camping stops with maximum comfort, without necessarily plugging into a charging station or an external outlet.

California App, Charging, And Vehicle-To-Load Capability

With the arrival of the ID. California Cruise, the California App adds functions designed for electric road trips such as showing compatible charging stations along the route during trip planning.
