Vinicius Jr. has returned to Real Madrid for pre-season, but his long-awaited contract renewal remains one of the club’s biggest priorities.
The Brazilian winger rejoined Jose Mourinho’s squad on Monday alongside Brahim Diaz and Bernardo Silva after completing his summer break following the World Cup.

Despite continued speculation over his future, it appears that Vinicius remains committed to extending his partnership with Real Madrid.
Vinicius wants to stay
Indeed, according to COPE’s Melchor Ruiz, the Brazilian has returned to Madrid in a positive mood and has no desire to leave the club.
“He has returned happy and wants to stay at Real Madrid. He’s looking for a salary increase of around €10 million, plus bonuses and improved image rights,” the journalist stated.
Ruiz also emphasized the club’s position, saying: “The club also wants him to stay.”

Renewal Remains the Priority
Vinicius is in the final year of his contract, making an extension one of Real Madrid’s most important objectives this summer.
Negotiations, which began well over a year ago, were paused due to disagreements but are expected to resume now that the Brazilian has returned to Valdebebas.
Club officials remain confident an agreement can be reached, although financial terms have continued to delay a final deal.
Salary remains the main obstacle
While both sides want to continue together, discussions have centered on Vinicius’ financial demands.
The Brazilian has repeatedly described Real Madrid as ‘the club of my heart and my life’, but he is seeking a significant pay rise, alongside a renewal bonuses and greater control over his image rights.

His demands, especially the renewal bonus, remain the main sticking point, although his expectations are believed to have become more flexible in recent weeks.
Key meeting planned
A face-to-face meeting with club president Florentino Perez is expected to play a decisive role in resolving the situation.
So far, Real Madrid have received no formal offers from Arsenal or any other club despite continued transfer speculation linking Vinicius with the Premier League. Both parties are optimistic that a compromise can be reached.
The current target is to resolve Vinicius’ future before September 1, when the summer transfer window closes.

If no agreement is reached in the coming weeks, Real Madrid will consider selling the Brazilian rather than risk losing him for free, as he would become eligible to negotiate with foreign clubs during the next transfer window.
For now, however, the message from both Vinicius and the club remains consistent: the priority is to continue together, with negotiations expected to intensify over the coming weeks.
