Viktor Hovland has withdrawn from next week’s WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona. In three previous appearances at the PGA Tour’s biggest party, the Norwegian has two missed cuts and finished T-42 in 2023.

Hovland is playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this weekend, the Tour’s second signature event of the season, and was tied for ninth entering the third round at 9 under. During his pre-tournament press conference, he was open about the state of his game saying, “It’s not very good.”

Some of the stars in the field for the WM Phoenix Open include Sam Burns, Wyndham Clark, Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Tom Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Sahith Theegala, Justin Thomas and Cameron Young.

Paul Waring will replace Hovland in the field.
