Scottie Scheffler pipped Viktor Hovland to the Tour Championship on Sunday at East Lake, winning the FedEx Cup in the process.
Scheffler shot a final round 66 to claim the Tour Championship title, while Hovland stumbled to a round of 72.

The world number one ended the 2026 season in superb style, while the Norwegian will be left ruing a huge missed opportunity.
Viktor Hovland actually got the better of Scottie Scheffler earlier this season at the Travelers Championship, but the 30-year-old got his own back on the man from Norway on Sunday at the Tour Championship.

Scheffler and Hovland share a good relationship, but they are both seriously competitive on the golf course.
And the American got the better of the Norwegian in the 2026 PGA Tour season finale.

The eight-time PGA Tour winner spoke to reporters after his final round at the Tour Championship on Sunday.

Hovland responded when asked by reporters whether he is amazed by Scheffler’s incredible ability to win with such regularity.

“I wouldn’t say amazed. It’s good. He’s just good, and he played good every day,“ the Norwegian said.
“I could have shot 66 easily as well today, just didn’t have it. The ball was going left and right, but if I feel like I know where the ball’s going, 66 is easy to shoot out there.
“Kudos to him is that he shows up and does it when you have to do it, and that’s how you win golf tournaments, and that’s how he’s won so much.“

Ryan Gerard raves about Scottie Scheffler’s ability
Gerard told reporters how difficult the challenge was at East Lake on Sunday.
He admitted that Scheffler’s round of 66 was very impressive when discussing his own struggles.
“It’s not for a lack of effort. It’s not for a lack of mentality,“ he said.
“It’s just I didn’t have it as well as I needed it today and just grinded it out hard. Hats off to Scottie.
“66 out there is pretty nice given some of the pin placements and the conditions.“
Scottie Scheffler’s final round at the Tour Championship on Sunday was a joy to watch, and he was certainly a deserving winner of the FedEx Cup trophy.
