The 2028 Solheim Cup is coming to Louisville. The biennial match play between the United States and Europe will be held at Valhalla Golf Club, making this the first significatn women’s golf event to be played there.
Valhalla GC has hosted several major men’s events, including the Ryder Cup and PGA Championship.

“It’s huge for the the Solheim Cup to be able to play at venues that had this hosting history,” Lindsay Allen, executive director of the 2028 Solheim Cup, said. “Then, hopefully, this will open up the gates for future LPGA events, other team events. That’s big.”

The event takes place every two years, and just wrapped up after being played from Sept. 11-13. Team Europe won the 2026 Solheim Cup 15-13 at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands. The U.S. Team leads Team Europe, 11-8-1, in Solheim Cup competition.
The 2028 tournament will take place from Sept. 6-10 with tickets going on sale starting Monday, Sept. 14, 2026. A variety of tickets can be purchased. Children 17 and under receive free admission.
There are no announced locations for the Solheim Cup beyond 2028 but the 2030 competition will return to Europe.
