According to Jeroen Kapteijns, Valencia are showing concrete interest in FC Volendam goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen. The 22-year-old was also the subject of interest from FC Twente, but the club are unable to meet the demands of Volendam for the goalkeeper. The fee that Volendam are looking for from Valencia is said to be in the region of €2-3m, which would register as the sides second largest player sale since Micky van der Ven joined Wolfsburg for €8.5m.
Valencia are keen on the 22-year-old despite Volendam getting relegated from the Eredivisie last season. Van Oevelen came through the Volendam youth system and made his debut during the 2023/2024 campaign. In 2024/2025 he was the first choice goalkeeper at the club, playing 30 games as the side won promotion to the Eredivisie. Last season he played 33 games as they left the top flight despite some strong performances from the goalkeeper.
